She is over 100 years old...

...and one of the few remaining, classical, large yachts of the beginning 20th century
- the majestic yacht ARTEMIS.
With her length of 35,27 m, width of 5,05 m, draught of 3,6 m and a sail-area of 476 qm she participated in international boat races in the past but sat ashore in the mud of a river north of London as a houseboat for the past decades.

Shipyard's Diary
In the meantime we have learned, that the mould fungus found on Artemis' hull has done a lot more damage to the structure than we had assumed.
Even a couple of ribs are affected, unfortunately on both sides.

KREUZERYACHT ARTEMIS – Ein Lagebericht
Nach der Saison 2008 mussten die Liebhaber der "Artemis" eine bittere Pille schlucken:
Bei ersten Inspektionen in der Werft "Jugend in Arbeit" im November wurde an der Yacht ein umfangreicher Schaden entdeckt - ein erheblicher Teil der Planken ist von einem Fäulnispilz befallen. |
